"We’ve always had an eye toward evaluation of our own programs. We are willing to evolve or to be flexible to meet the changing needs of our students and teachers. We are always looking out to the future and the best interest of our children as they develop into future business people and future leaders of the community."

Margaret Pedro,
Chairperson of the Peabody Education Council

Support Teachers
  • Best Bet Committee sponsors the funding of additional worthwhile materials and programs proposed by the schools' teachers.
Bring "Human Resources" into the Classroom
  • Guest Reader Program invites business leaders, city officials, and local citizens to read quality children's literature to elementary students.
  • KidsVoting© exposes our students to their right to vote and the voting process by allowing them to participate in a mock election process.
Introduce Students to Career Opportunities
  • Mentoring Program allows high school students to experience the environment of a real-life work day.
  • PVMHS Career Day encourages all PVMHS students to meet business representatives face to face.
  • Mock Interview calls on volunteer human resource professionals from local businesses to offer suggestions on successful interviewing techniques and resumé preparation.
Raise Money
  • Fundraising provides the much-needed revenue to support all of these activities. By establishing partnerships with Peabody's business community and citizens, the council serves to increase excellence in public education.
